Katie Couric listed her longtime co-operative apartment on New York City’s posh Park Avenue with an asking price of $8.25 million. Purchased the suburban house-sized apartment in 1998 for about $3.6 million and, per the New York Post who first reported the listing, raised her family there.

On the third floor of a handsome, early 20th-century apartment house with an elegant rusticated limestone base at the corner of Park Avenue and East 92nd Street, the approximately 4,000-square-foot co-op has four and potentially five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms plus a staff bedroom tucked up behind the kitchen and laundry room.

With over-sized sash windows and original parquet flooring, the graciously proportioned pre-war spread includes an ample living room with fireplace and three windows that provide an oblique, over the treetops and across Park Avenue view of the handsome steeple of Brick Presbyterian Church. The spacious formal dining room has a similar view over Park Avenue while the large, country kitchen has an up close view into the windows of the neighboring building and includes a butler’s pantry, terra-cotta floor tiles, marble counters tops and a breakfast nook with cushioned built-in banquette seating. Bedrooms are divided into two wings for maximum privacy. One wing comprises an en suite master bedroom and an adjacent study or potential bedroom while the other wing has one en suite bedroom with a walk-in closet plus two more bedrooms that share a Jack ‘n’ Jill style bathroom.

Couric only moved about a dozen blocks south, to a brand-new, 14-residence boutique building that blends classical architecture with up-to-date amenities and where almost 1.5 years ago she and her financier husband, John Molner, shelled out $12,168,000 for a full-floor unit with four and potentially five bedrooms and five bathrooms in 3,966-square-feet. Since 2006 when she bought it for $5.65 million, Couric has also maintained a 1.55-acre estate in hoity-toity East Hampton, N.Y., with a rambling, Dutch Gambrel-style residence plus a poolside guest cottage and a tennis court.
